BALINEWS.ID – The French Ambassador to Indonesia, Timor-Leste, and ASEAN, H.E. Fabien Penone, visited the Bali Culinary Pastry School (BCPS) in Nyanyi, Tabanan, on Saturday (11/10/2025), marking a significant moment in the growing partnership between France and Bali in the fields of education, culture, and gastronomy. The visit took place as part of French Gastronomy Week 2025, a celebration of culinary diplomacy and innovation.
Ambassador Penone praised BCPS for its role in bridging cultures through food and education.
“France and Indonesia share a vision of nurturing long-term partnerships in education, culture, and gastronomy. What BCPS is doing here perfectly embodies that vision, fostering people-to-people connections, nurturing young talents, and creating new opportunities for collaboration,” he said.
The Ambassador was welcomed by Made Ariani Siswanto, Founder of BCPS and President Commissioner of Valrhona Chocolate Bali Park, along with Dr. Paulus Herry Arianto, Deputy Director of Politeknik Internasional Bali (PIB College), and Nyanyi Bali’s Board of Directors.
Ariani expressed her gratitude, highlighting the school’s international collaborations with French institutions such as Alliance Française Bali, Lucien Barrière Group, and Michelin-starred establishments.
“It’s an honor to welcome His Excellency to Nyanyi Bali. This visit reflects our shared vision to strengthen global collaboration in education and gastronomy,” said Ariani.
During the visit, Ambassador Penone toured BCPS’s state-of-the-art facilities and interacted with students, who showcased their culinary creations inspired by French techniques and Balinese ingredients. The visit concluded with a degustation session at the BCPS Pedagogical Restaurant, featuring dishes that symbolized the cultural harmony between the two nations.
Since its establishment in 2016, BCPS has trained over 1,000 students from Indonesia and abroad, with alumni placed in top hotels and fine-dining restaurants worldwide. Through partnerships with leading chefs and institutions in France, BCPS continues to solidify Bali’s position as a global hub for culinary education and innovation.
