BANGKOK, BALINEWS — The Bali chapter of the Association of Indonesian Tours and Travel Agencies (ASITA Bali) has entered into a strategic partnership with global travel experience booking platform GetYourGuide to expand the international reach of Bali’s tourism products.

The partnership was formalized through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during the GYG Unlocked Summit 2026 at Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok, Thailand, on Sunday, October 18, 2026.

I Wayan Suberata, Vice Chairman for Destination and Product Development of ASITA Bali, attended the signing ceremony on behalf of the organization.

ASITA Bali Chairman I Putu Winastra welcomed the partnership, describing it as an opportunity for the association’s members to expand their markets and promote Bali’s tourism products to international travelers through a global digital platform.

“This partnership presents an opportunity for ASITA Bali members to expand their markets and introduce Bali’s tourism products through an international digital platform. We will soon share information about the collaboration with all ASITA Bali members and conduct outreach to help them understand the opportunities it offers,” Winastra said.

He emphasized that digitalization had become a necessity for travel businesses seeking to remain competitive amid changing travel habits, as more international tourists rely on digital platforms to discover, plan, and book travel experiences.

Through the partnership, ASITA Bali aims to encourage its members to take advantage of digital marketing channels to showcase their products to a broader international audience.

Bali offers a wide range of tourism experiences, including cultural attractions, nature-based activities, adventure tourism, culinary experiences, wellness services, and community-based tourism.

However, offering diverse tourism products is only part of the challenge. Businesses must also ensure that their products are visible to potential travelers through the right marketing channels and booking platforms.

The collaboration with GetYourGuide is expected to help local travel businesses broaden their market access and adapt to the evolving digital tourism landscape.

The partnership also reflects ASITA Bali’s broader commitment to supporting the digital transformation of the island’s tourism industry. Through information-sharing and outreach to its members, the association aims to create new marketing opportunities and help local businesses respond to changes in the global travel market.

Through this collaboration, ASITA Bali hopes to increase the international visibility of local tourism products and strengthen their competitiveness in the global marketplace.

From Bali to the world, the initiative seeks to connect the island’s diverse tourism experiences with travelers seeking new destinations and authentic experiences.
