DENPASAR, BALINEWS – The Denpasar Immigration Office has detained four foreign nationals during immigration enforcement operations conducted on October 28–29, 2026. Three foreign women are suspected of offering sexual services through online platforms, with advertised rates reaching IDR 13.7 million, while a Ghanaian man was detained following complaints from local residents that he had been asking people for money.
The suspected online prostitution activities were uncovered through cyber patrols conducted by the Intelligence and Immigration Enforcement Section (Inteldakim) of the Denpasar Immigration Office.
During their monitoring, officers identified several profiles on a website and digital platforms allegedly advertising sexual services at specified rates.
The profiles reportedly included a Ugandan woman advertising services for USD 100, a Russian woman with an advertised rate of IDR 13.7 million, and a Nigerian woman with a rate of IDR 3.5 million.
Following the findings, immigration officers conducted an operation on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, at a villa on Jalan Padang Tegal Sari, West Denpasar District, Denpasar.
The operation was carried out in stages. At approximately 7 p.m. local time, officers questioned JN (35), a Ugandan national. At 9 p.m., they conducted an initial examination of AS (29), a Russian national. Later, at around 10:30 p.m., officers took action against BDC (32), a Nigerian national.
All three women were subsequently taken to the Denpasar Immigration Office for further questioning.
An examination of their immigration documents revealed that BDC had overstayed her permitted period of stay by 54 days. Meanwhile, officers are continuing to investigate the alleged misuse of residence permits and suspected involvement in online prostitution.
During the operation, officers also seized several items of evidence, including Sutra and Durex brand condoms, lubricant, several mobile phones allegedly used to advertise services through digital platforms, and the passports belonging to the three foreign nationals.
In a separate operation on Thursday, October 29, 2026, Denpasar Immigration officers detained another foreign national, identified by the initials CYA (31), a Ghanaian man.
The action followed reports from local residents concerning his presence at a house in the Jalan Gunung Lebah area of Denpasar.
An examination of his immigration documents revealed that CYA had overstayed his permitted period of stay by 115 days.
He was detained following allegations that he had been disturbing public order by asking local residents for money after running out of funds. He was subsequently taken to the Denpasar Immigration Office for further examination.
The case was presented at a press conference attended by Head of the Bali Regional Office of the Directorate General of Immigration Ramdhani, Head of the Denpasar Immigration Office R. Haryo Sakti, Denpasar Police Chief Commissioner I Wayan Winaya, S.I.K., M.H., and Head of the Denpasar Intelligence and Immigration Enforcement Section Ida Bagus Made Suandita.
Ramdhani commended Denpasar Immigration officers for their prompt response to public reports and their subsequent field inspections.
He emphasized that all foreign nationals residing in Bali must comply with Indonesian laws and ensure that their activities are consistent with the conditions of their immigration permits.
"We will continue to strengthen our supervision in a measured manner while prioritizing the principle of prudence," Ramdhani said.
Meanwhile, R. Haryo Sakti stressed that public participation plays an important role in monitoring the presence and activities of foreign nationals in Bali.
"Every piece of information we receive will be followed up professionally, objectively, and in accordance with established procedures. We are committed to ensuring that foreign nationals comply with the applicable regulations while staying in Indonesia. This is a concrete manifestation of Immigration for the People," Haryo said.
Immigration authorities are continuing to examine the cases and investigate the suspected violations. Foreign nationals found to have breached immigration regulations may face administrative immigration sanctions, including deportation, in accordance with Indonesian law.
The alleged violations are being handled under Articles 75(1), 78(2), and 78(3) of Indonesia's Immigration Law, subject to the results of the examinations and the applicable legal provisions.
The Denpasar Immigration Office said it would continue strengthening its supervision through cyber patrols and direct field inspections to prevent immigration violations, maintain public order, and ensure that foreign nationals comply with Indonesian regulations while staying in Bali.
