BADUNG, BALINEWS — A video showing a fight involving several foreign nationals at Motel Mexicola Seminyak in North Kuta, Badung, Bali, has gone viral on social media.
The North Kuta Police confirmed that the incident took place on Thursday, October 1, 2026, between approximately 11:12 p.m. and 11:35 p.m. local time at the entertainment venue on Jalan Kayu Jati No. 9X, Kerobokan Kelod.
Police have inspected the location, interviewed people connected to the incident and reviewed CCTV footage to establish the sequence of events.
North Kuta Police Chief Commissioner I Ketut Sukadana said the incident began with a fight between two Australian nationals inside the bar area of Motel Mexicola.
According to the venue's manager, I Gusti Putu Wira Suparta, the altercation involved an Australian man wearing a black shirt and another Australian man who was later seen shirtless in the video circulating online.
Security personnel who witnessed the fight intervened and attempted to separate the two men before escorting them out of the venue in accordance with security procedures.
However, after being taken outside, one of the men allegedly attacked again and attempted to re-enter the venue. He was reportedly stopped by a security officer, whom he allegedly struck while trying to get back inside.
The situation escalated as the man repeatedly attempted to enter the venue in search of his opponent. Footage circulating on social media shows several people trying to restrain and separate him.
Police said the incident was allegedly triggered by the man's dissatisfaction after he was removed from the venue. He reportedly believed that security personnel were protecting his opponent and repeatedly tried to get back inside.
The man was eventually taken away by his friends and left the area heading west.
The incident was subsequently posted by several Instagram accounts, including Acehorganics and Canggulosophy.Official, attracting hundreds of comments from social media users.
Commissioner Sukadana said no formal police report had been filed by any party involved in the altercation as of the latest police assessment.
“We advise anyone who believes they were a victim to file a police report,” Sukadana said.
The North Kuta Police initially learned about the incident through social media. Officers then visited the venue, gathered information from witnesses and related parties, and reviewed CCTV footage to verify the chronology of the incident.
Police said the case remains open and can be formally investigated if any person who feels victimized or suffered losses decides to file an official report.
