BALI, BALINEWS.ID – Artificial intelligence may be transforming industries worldwide, but the real question is: who governs the machines? On September 30, 2025, Bali became the stage for “From Black Box to Boardroom: AI Governance Made Simple,” a forward-looking event hosted by Tracy Wilkinson, Founder of TraceWorthy Consulting.
The forum gathered thought leaders, entrepreneurs, and innovators to discuss how AI can shape governance, business sustainability, and the future of work. Wilkinson opened the event by stressing the urgent need for governance frameworks in today’s rapidly evolving digital era. According to her, while AI can accelerate growth and efficiency, without guidance it can also drive companies into costly missteps.
Tracy Wilkinson, Founder of PT TraceWorthy Consulting, explained, “One of the things that we are seeing is that the world is running very fast and people are trying to adapt with the technology, especially with the AI world. They don’t know how to push their business, so they are making some mistakes along the way as the result of not having good guides,” she stated.
Her mission, Wilkinson added, is to help people navigate this technological transition responsibly. She emphasised that while AI can streamline processes and cut costs, it is equally vital to ensure that workers, particularly in places like Indonesia, are not left behind.
“We can use AI, change people, and save more money. But those people have families, especially in places like Indonesia. We should find a way to help people adapt so that they stay in work, continue feeding their family, and remain valued. They need to learn how to integrate these new tools into their business and careers without losing their jobs or their sense of worth,” she said.
Wilkinson also highlighted the importance of community and empathy in leadership.
“One of the things that is appealing to me is the way that the community works together here. Being an Australian, I find that our community is very fractured and disconnected. I prefer to be in a place where people are interested in and care for each other,” she remarked, adding that her business philosophy is rooted in care for the people she works alongside.
The discussion continued with Sonia Szuba, Founder of PT Sama Sama Space, who shared her experience building a cross-border influencer marketing ecosystem connecting Poland and Indonesia. Her journey sparked conversation on scaling digital platforms, influencer ecosystems, and governance in today’s dynamic online economy.
Adding valuable perspective, Adrian Watkins, serial investor, start-up mentor, and SVP of Commercial Operations & Governance at global AI firm SQREEM Technologies, offered practical strategies to strengthen Sama Sama’s model. His advice ranged from reinforcing governance and clarifying revenue structures to embracing gamification, AI-driven customer targeting, and mobile-first strategies.
Watkins underscored the potential for Sama Sama to grow into a trusted, sustainable ecosystem bridging influencers, vendors, and brands across Asia.
The event was supported by Hiro Drinks and Manulife, whose sponsorship helped unite diverse voices passionate about building an AI-powered future that balances innovation, community, and governance.
