UBUD, BALINEWS.ID – This festive season, Syrco BASÈ invites guests to slow down, reconnect, and celebrate the joy of togetherness through a thoughtfully curated holiday dining experience. Embracing the theme “Celebration of Togetherness,” the acclaimed culinary hub led by two-Michelin-starred chef Syrco Bakker presents a series of festive menus that highlight seasonal intuition, honest flavours, and Bali’s natural rhythm.
Running from 25 to 27 December 2025, Syrco BASÈ introduces a special Christmas Lunch through its BASÈ Pure experience. Designed as a warm and approachable midday celebration, the menu is priced at IDR 850,000++ per person and showcases a balance of freshness, comfort, and subtle sophistication. Guests are welcomed with bright, clean flavours such as savoy cabbage paired with green chili koshi and lime, followed by delicate compositions including hamachi with watermelon and coconut, as well as oyster accented with passion fruit and cashew.
The journey continues with heartier dishes that reinterpret local heritage, including duck betutu with crisp taro rösti, offering a contemporary take on a beloved Balinese classic. A highlight of the lunch experience is the Jatiluwih red rice focaccia, enriched with peanut oil, algae butter, and kanari nut, an elegant tribute to Bali’s heritage grains and agricultural legacy.
As evening arrives, Syrco BASÈ shifts into a more expressive culinary rhythm. On 24–26 December, as well as 31 December and 1 January, the restaurant presents its signature BASÈ Journey dinner menu, priced at IDR 1,500,000++ per person. This immersive dining experience explores Indonesian flavours through refined techniques and narrative-driven courses.
The dinner unfolds with dishes such as sepia with black garlic and lemon kosho, followed by the soulful interpretation of Nasi Ulam, and refined seafood creations including fish rouleau with razor clam and spiny lobster “à la nage.” Rich, seasonal flavours continue with pork cheek accented by Andaliman pepper and kanari nut, while guests seeking a celebratory indulgence may opt for the Wagyu Tokusen MB5 upgrade.
Desserts bring the experience to a gentle and nostalgic close, reimagining familiar flavours with elegance, ranging from a delicate coconut and banana “Kolak” to milk chocolate paired with mulberry and caramel—creating one of the most memorable festive dining moments in Ubud this season.
Reflecting on the spirit behind the festive menus, Chef Syrco Bakker shared that the holiday season is ultimately about human connection. He emphasized that each dish is designed not only to showcase ingredients, but also to express care, hospitality, and the stories of the communities behind them.
Remaining true to its guiding principles of Traceability, Nature, and Transparency, Syrco BASÈ continues to celebrate Indonesia’s land, people, and produce. Each festive dish reflects a relationship—with the seasons, local farmers and fishers, and guests who gather around the table, positioning Syrco BASÈ as a meaningful contributor to Bali’s evolving fine-dining landscape.
With its refined yet grounded approach, Syrco BASÈ’s festive offerings stand out as an invitation to celebrate the season with intention, flavour, and togetherness in the heart of Ubud. (*)
