DENPASAR, BALINEWS – Bali Deputy Police Chief Brigadier General I Made Astawa met with online motorcycle taxi drivers on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, to hear their concerns about public security and order, including suspected gambling activities, hypnosis-related scams, traffic violations, and potential congestion ahead of the Christmas and New Year holidays.
The meeting took place at the Diponegoro Police Subsector in Denpasar and served as a forum for dialogue between the police and the community to strengthen cooperation in maintaining public safety across Bali.
During the meeting, the drivers raised several issues they had encountered or observed in the field. These included suspected gambling activities, crimes involving alleged hypnosis techniques, and traffic violations involving both Indonesian citizens and foreign nationals.
They also expressed concerns about possible traffic congestion during the upcoming Christmas and New Year holiday period, when increased travel could affect traffic flow across the island.
Astawa welcomed the feedback and said Bali Police were committed to following up on the issues in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. The measures would include increasing patrols and coordinating with relevant agencies.
He also urged members of the public to remain vigilant and promptly report criminal acts or public security disturbances through the police emergency hotline at 110.
In addition, Astawa encouraged online motorcycle taxi drivers, particularly those who are parents, to instill anti-bullying values in their children from an early age and help create a safe environment for children's growth and development.
The meeting was part of Bali Police's efforts to strengthen communication with the public and encourage greater community participation in maintaining public security and order.
Bali Police called on all members of the community to maintain open communication, build mutual trust, and actively contribute to keeping the island safe and peaceful.
