NUSA DUA, BALINEW – Bali Police Chief Inspector General Pasma Royce has introduced himself as the province’s new police chief during a community outreach program at the Grand Ibnu Batutah Mosque in the Puja Mandala complex, Nusa Dua, on Saturday, October 17, 2026.

The event, held under the Subuh Keliling Bersama Masyarakat (Suling), or Community Dawn Prayer Outreach Program, was attended by senior Bali Police officials, religious leaders, mosque administrators, and hundreds of worshippers. The police chief and his delegation were welcomed by the chairman of the Ibnu Batutah Mosque Foundation and the mosque’s imam.

Following the congregational dawn prayer, Pasma Royce greeted worshippers and mosque administrators and introduced himself as the new head of the Bali Regional Police. Through the Suling program, he aims to strengthen relations between the police and the community while providing residents with an opportunity to express their concerns and share their aspirations directly.

“Our presence among the worshippers is not merely part of our police duties. It is an effort to build relationships, listen directly to public feedback, and maintain the spirit of unity on the Island of the Gods, which we all cherish,” Pasma Royce said.

In his address, the Bali Police chief emphasized that maintaining public security and order is a shared responsibility that extends beyond law enforcement agencies. He said a safe and peaceful environment can be achieved through cooperation, mutual support, and unity among all members of society.

He also stressed that public trust is essential to the police force. Strong cooperation between law enforcement and local communities, he said, must be maintained and strengthened to ensure Bali remains safe, peaceful, and secure.

Pasma Royce also highlighted the dangers of drug abuse, warning that it poses a serious threat to the future of younger generations.

He urged residents to strengthen preventive efforts from an early stage, starting within families and extending to neighborhood associations and the wider community.

“Drug prevention cannot be left solely to law enforcement officers. Close collaboration among families, local communities, and the police is necessary to protect our children from the threat of illegal drugs,” he said.

According to Pasma Royce, active participation by families, community leaders, and residents is essential to preventing drug distribution and abuse.

The Suling program at the Grand Ibnu Batutah Mosque concluded with an informal gathering, joint prayers for Bali’s safety and peace, and the symbolic presentation of a token of appreciation to mosque administrators.

Through the initiative, the Bali Regional Police hopes to foster more open communication with the public, strengthen trust in law enforcement, and encourage greater community participation in maintaining public security and preventing drug abuse.
