DENPASAR, BALINEWS – Bali Regional Police (Polda Bali) held an environmental clean-up and tree-planting activity at Ngurah Rai Sports Center in Denpasar on Friday, October 16, 2026, as part of its Green Policing program to promote environmental awareness and conservation.
The activity, which began at 4 p.m. Central Indonesia Time (WITA), was led by Bali Deputy Police Chief Brigadier General I Made Astawa, accompanied by police personnel from the Bali Regional Police.
During the event, officers collected litter scattered around the sports complex to improve cleanliness and create a healthier, more comfortable environment. The initiative also included tree planting to support urban greening and environmental preservation.
Bali Regional Police Public Relations Chief Senior Commissioner Ariasandy said the Green Policing initiative reflected the police force's commitment to environmental protection while encouraging greater public participation in maintaining clean and healthy surroundings.
“Through this activity, Bali Regional Police wants to demonstrate that protecting the environment is a shared responsibility. We encourage everyone to start with simple actions, such as disposing of waste properly, keeping public spaces clean, and planting and caring for trees,” Ariasandy said.
He emphasized that maintaining cleanliness and caring for the environment must become consistent habits to deliver lasting benefits for local communities and Bali's natural environment.
Ariasandy added that a clean and healthy environment was essential to improving people's quality of life. Therefore, environmental awareness should be developed through concrete actions and everyday practices rather than relying solely on public appeals.
Through the Green Policing program, Bali Regional Police hopes to increase community involvement in environmental protection. The initiative also reflects the police force's broader role in society, extending beyond maintaining public safety and order to supporting environmental sustainability.
Bali Regional Police encouraged residents to keep public facilities clean, avoid littering, and plant and maintain trees in their respective neighborhoods.
The initiative is expected to contribute to a cleaner, greener, healthier, and more sustainable Bali while helping preserve environmental quality for future generations.
