DENPASAR, BALINEWS – The Denpasar City National Narcotics Agency (BNN) is partnering with the Denpasar City Education Office to strengthen drug abuse prevention among young people through arts and cultural activities. The initiative was highlighted at an anti-drug cultural performance titled “Realizing a Drug-Free Denpasar” at Puputan Badung Square in Denpasar on Thursday, October 29, 2026.
The event was part of FESTAMU.BALI (Bali Young Talent Festival) 2026 in Denpasar and carried the theme “One Talent, One Culture, One Bali.” It provided a platform for young people to showcase their talents while raising awareness of the dangers of drug abuse.
The collaboration between BNN Denpasar and the Denpasar City Education Office highlights the importance of prevention as a complement to drug law enforcement efforts. Arts and culture are being used as accessible educational tools to communicate anti-drug messages, particularly to students and younger generations.
Through the initiative, organizers hope to broaden public awareness of the dangers of drug abuse and encourage the development of healthier communities that are resilient to drug-related threats.
Preventing drug abuse requires the involvement of multiple stakeholders, including families, schools, community groups, artists, and the wider public. Strengthening character and fostering positive values are also essential to helping young people resist the risks associated with drug abuse.
Through FESTAMU.BALI 2026, BNN Denpasar and the Denpasar City Education Office aim to make arts and culture an integral part of a collective effort to achieve Denpasar Bersinar, a campaign promoting a drug-free Denpasar.
