“When the team arrived at the location, the two foreign nationals suspected of providing illegal training fled the area. The team attempted to pursue them, but they managed to escape,” Sakti said in a statement on Wednesday (Sept. 30, 2026).
During the operation, officers were able to question two other foreign nationals who were allegedly participating in motorcycle training provided by the two individuals who fled.
The two individuals were identified by their initials as RO, a 20-year-old man, and IA, a 21-year-old woman. Both are Belarusian nationals and holders of Limited Stay Permits (ITAS) for remote workers.
The Denpasar Immigration Office plans to summon RO and IA for further questioning. Their statements will be used to help establish the identities and whereabouts of the two suspected trainers who fled when officers arrived.
The immigration patrol also covered Jalan Tukad Punggawa, an area known for activities involving foreign nationals.
Sakti said the patrols form part of routine immigration monitoring to ensure that foreign nationals residing in Bali comply with immigration regulations and conduct activities in accordance with their respective stay permits.
He said the monitoring was also intended to maintain public order and provide a sense of security for local communities.
“Consistent with the spirit of Immigration for the People, we are here not only to enforce regulations but also to ensure that the community feels safe and comfortable with the presence of foreign nationals in their surroundings. We will also trace the identities of the foreign nationals who fled from our officers,” Sakti said.
Meanwhile, Head of the Bali Regional Immigration Office Ramdhani praised the Denpasar Immigration Office for responding quickly to information concerning the alleged activity.
“Every foreign national staying in Bali is required to comply with the regulations and conduct activities in accordance with their stay permits. We will continue to strengthen our supervision in a measured manner,” Ramdhani said.
The monitoring effort is in line with the direction of Immigration Director General Hendarsam Marantoko, who has emphasized immigration supervision as part of efforts to provide legal certainty, safeguard national sovereignty and maintain public safety through professional, adaptive and integrity-based supervision of foreign nationals.
The Denpasar Immigration Office will continue tracing the identities and whereabouts of the two foreign nationals who fled while also investigating the activities they allegedly conducted in the Serangan area.
