Denpasar Prosecutors Destroy Evidence from 424 Cases, Including 12.9 Kg of Meth and 63,542 Ecstasy Pills

DENPASAR, BALINEWS – The Denpasar District Prosecutor’s Office destroyed evidence from 424 criminal cases that had received final and legally binding court rulings on Wednesday (October 28, 2026). The evidence included 12.9 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine, 63,542 ecstasy pills, nearly 4.8 kilograms of cocaine, cannabis, and three firearms.

The destruction was carried out as part of the implementation of final court rulings and to ensure that the confiscated evidence could no longer be misused.

According to data from the Denpasar District Prosecutor’s Office, the narcotics destroyed included 12,912 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 63,542 ecstasy pills, 20,485 grams of cannabis, 17 grams of synthetic tobacco, and 4,801 grams of cocaine.

The office also destroyed 9,180 pills of other medications and 114 packages of pharmaceutical products.

The operation was conducted pursuant to Denpasar District Court rulings and an order issued by the Head of the Denpasar District Prosecutor’s Office, Number PRINT-4494/N.1.10.BPA/BPApa.1/10/2026, dated October 21, 2026.

Of the 424 cases, 305 involved narcotics offenses, 94 were classified as OHD criminal cases, and 25 as KTB criminal cases, according to the prosecutor’s office data.

Other items destroyed included 128 mobile phones of various types and brands, electronic devices, equipment associated with narcotics offenses, clothing, and bags used in the commission of crimes.

The prosecutors also destroyed eight bladed weapons, including various types of knives, and three firearms.

Head of the Denpasar District Prosecutor’s Office Trimo, S.H., M.H., said five of the 424 cases involved foreign nationals from the Netherlands, Russia, Brazil, Australia, and Ukraine.

“Four of the five cases involved violations of the Narcotics Law, with evidence including ecstasy, cannabis, crystal methamphetamine, and cocaine. The remaining case involved assault. Meanwhile, 419 cases involved Indonesian nationals,” Trimo said during the evidence destruction event at the prosecutor’s office on Wednesday (October 28, 2026).

The figures show that Indonesian nationals accounted for the overwhelming majority of the cases, with 419 cases, while foreign nationals were involved in the remaining five.

Data presented by the prosecutor’s office also showed that 15 percent of the cases involved defendants holding identity cards (KTP) issued in Bali, while 84 percent involved holders of identity cards issued outside the province.

The offenses covered by the cases included narcotics-related crimes, violence, and theft.

The destruction of the evidence forms part of the enforcement of final court rulings and is intended to prevent confiscated items from being recirculated or used for unlawful purposes.
