VoA Is Not a Business Permit! Czech National Deported from Bali Over Alleged Villa Marketing Activities

BADUNG, BALINEWS — The Buleleng Class II Immigration Office deported a 46-year-old Czech national identified by the initials NKH on Friday, October 16, 2026, following allegations that he marketed a villa in Abang District, Karangasem Regency, in activities deemed inconsistent with his Visa on Arrival (VoA).

NKH was deported through I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport aboard Qatar Airways flight QR-963, departing from Denpasar for Doha, with Prague, Czech Republic, as his final destination.

The enforcement action followed immigration surveillance that uncovered suspected villa marketing activities on Facebook. Officers also found a villa-for-sale notice displaying NKH's contact number on the front of the property.

Based on these findings, immigration authorities determined that the suspected activities were inconsistent with the purpose of the VoA held by NKH. The visa is intended for permitted visits and does not authorize employment or business activities prohibited under Indonesian immigration regulations.

As a result, NKH was subjected to Administrative Immigration Action in the form of deportation. Immigration authorities have also proposed that he be placed on Indonesia's entry blacklist.

The action was carried out under Article 75(1) in conjunction with Article 122(a) of Law No. 6 of 2011 on Immigration.

Director General of Immigration Hendarsam Marantoko has emphasized that foreign nationals who violate immigration regulations must face enforcement action regardless of their nationality or background.

Meanwhile, Head of the Buleleng Class II Immigration Office, Anak Agung Gde Kusuma Putra, stressed that all foreign nationals must comply with the conditions attached to their visas and residence permits while staying in Indonesia.

“Every foreign national must use their visa and residence permit in accordance with the purpose of their stay. We will take firm action against any violations in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations,” he said.

The Buleleng Immigration Office stated that it would continue strengthening surveillance of foreign nationals and their activities within its jurisdiction. The measures are intended to ensure compliance with immigration regulations while maintaining order and supporting a well-regulated tourism sector in Bali.

The case serves as a reminder that foreign nationals visiting Indonesia must ensure that their activities remain within the scope of their visa and residence permit. A Visa on Arrival does not automatically authorize employment or business activities that are not permitted under Indonesian law.
