MACAU, BALINEWS.ID – As the Lunar New Year season arrives, SJM Resorts, S.A. is welcoming the Year of the Horse with a citywide celebration filled with prosperity-themed experiences, vibrant decorations, and exclusive festive privileges.
Running from 2 February to 8 March, the celebrations span the company’s iconic properties, led by Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau, offering guests a dynamic program of shopping rewards, lucky draws, family-friendly workshops, and seasonal entertainment.
Visitors can gather with loved ones to enjoy reunion feasts at Michelin-starred restaurants, indulge in rejuvenating spa treatments, and immerse themselves in festive installations designed to capture the joyful spirit of the New Year.
The celebrations also extend to Grand Lisboa Macau, JAI ALAI Oceanus, L’Arc Macau, and Kam Pek Market, all adorned with dazzling seasonal décor to welcome guests from around the world.
Festive photo opportunities are among the highlights, with Jardim Secreto at Grand Lisboa Palace showcasing lively installations featuring SJM’s mascot, Sam the Rooster. Adding to the celebratory atmosphere, the God of Fortune will make special appearances across participating venues, distributing auspicious gifts, shopping vouchers, and dining privileges to guests between 17 and 22 February.

From 7 February to 8 March, visitors spending at designated retail, dining, and spa outlets across the resorts can enjoy access to themed attractions such as Sam’s Bouncy Castle, Sportopia, and the Samtastic Express ride, symbolising a prosperous start to the year.
Guests will also have opportunities to join lucky draws and capture memorable moments at interactive photo booths.
Traditional cultural performances will bring further excitement to the festivities. Lion dances are scheduled across multiple venues from 21 to 23 February, spreading good fortune throughout the city. The celebrations will also feature SJM’s themed float joining the Chinese New Year Parade organised by the Macao Government Tourism Office on 19 and 28 February evenings.
Meanwhile, families can participate in creative workshops at GLP Arte during weekends throughout February, crafting personalised red packets and festive decorations.
Culinary experiences remain a cornerstone of the celebrations, with signature restaurants at Grand Lisboa Palace, including Palace Garden, Chalou, and Hua Ting — introducing limited-time Chinese New Year menus and auspicious à la carte dishes. The Grand Buffet will host festive food stations and the traditional “Lo Hei” prosperity toss from 17 to 19 February, symbolising rising fortunes and new beginnings.
At Grand Lisboa, the renowned Robuchon au Dôme will present a special Chinese New Year set menu on 19 February, allowing guests to enjoy three-Michelin-starred French cuisine while overlooking the city’s fireworks display.
The two-Michelin-starred The Eight will also introduce exclusive Year of the Horse dining experiences, alongside seasonal offerings across multiple restaurants at L’Arc Macau and JAI ALAI Oceanus.
To complete the festive journey, SJM’s luxury spas are introducing exclusive treatments designed to rejuvenate body and mind.
