UBUD, BALINEWS.ID – Around 200 guests from various countries gathered at Bambu Indah Resort on March 7, 2026, to take part in “The Last Echoes,” an intimate international event held on the eve of Nyepi, Bali’s sacred Day of Silence marking the Saka New Year.

Held in the lush river valley of Ubud, the gathering offered a serene prelude to the island-wide observance of Nyepi, when Bali comes to a complete standstill for 24 hours.

During the sacred day, residents and visitors observe silence with no travel, lights, or entertainment, creating a moment of collective reflection and renewal.

The event combined relaxation, music, nature, and contemplation, allowing guests to fully embrace the final evening before the island entered its period of stillness.

“The Last Echoes was designed as a reflective moment for guests to fully experience the final night before Bali embraces silence. It allows people from different parts of the world to pause, connect with nature, and transition mindfully into Nyepi’s sacred stillness,” said Citra Suriah, Corporate Director of Marketing of Bambu Indah, Green Village Bali, and The Kul Kul Farm.

Guests began arriving in the late afternoon, enjoying the resort’s tranquil atmosphere and nature-integrated facilities. Wellness experiences such as a sauna, ice bath, copper hot tub, and natural spring pools were available throughout the evening, creating a calm and intimate environment.

Light culinary offerings and beverages were served while ambient soundscapes filled the valley, encouraging quiet reflection.

The musical program opened with Agustian, a multi-instrumentalist from Sumatra who presented meditative soundscapes using traditional instruments and chants. His performance set the tone for the evening, blending music with a sense of spiritual calm.

The night continued with a collaborative performance by Sophie Sofree and Raio, who combined electronic elements with live instrumentation, creating rhythmic textures that invited guests to be fully present in the moment.

The closing performance featured Onanya, whose fusion of African and Middle Eastern musical influences delivered an immersive and soulful musical journey.

As the highlight of the evening, guests were guided to the Island area of the resort for a final fire ceremony led by Anna Maria, symbolically marking the transition from movement and expression into Nyepi’s sacred silence.

“Through music, nature, and community, we hoped to create an experience that resonates deeply with our guests while honoring Bali’s spiritual traditions. The evening allowed everyone to carry a sense of peace and connection as the island entered Nyepi,” Citra Suriah added.

As the event concluded, guests departed the resort carrying the gentle resonance of the evening, preparing to embrace the quiet and contemplative atmosphere that would envelop Bali during Nyepi.
