DENPASAR, BALINEWS — Immigration authorities in Bali are strengthening cooperation with the media to improve public access to information on immigration policies, services, supervision and enforcement.
The initiative was carried out through a media gathering titled “Media Synergy in Strengthening the Publication of Immigration Performance in Bali,” organized by the Denpasar Immigration Detention Center (Rudenim Denpasar) at the Ibis Styles Bali Denpasar Hotel on Thursday (Oct. 1, 2026).
The event brought together immigration officials and 31 media partners representing print, television and online media outlets.
Among those attending were Head of Rudenim Denpasar Teguh Mentalyadi; Head of the Bali Regional Office of the Directorate General of Immigration Ramdhani, A.Md.Im., S.H., M.Si.; Head of the Bali Provincial Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Agency (DPMPTSP) Dr. I Ketut Sukra Negara; Head of the Public Relations Division of the Bali Provincial Government’s Public Relations and Protocol Bureau K. Suadnyana Puriyanto; and Head of the Ngurah Rai Class I Special Immigration Office Muhamad Novyandri, A.Md.Im., S.H., M.H.
The forum served as a communication platform between immigration authorities and the media to strengthen public reporting on immigration policies and performance in Bali.
Head of the Bali Regional Office of the Directorate General of Immigration Ramdhani said the media plays an important role in communicating immigration-related performance and information to the public.
He said the gathering was expected to provide a regular communication forum between immigration officials and journalists, allowing information on immigration duties and functions to reach the wider public.
“The media gathering is expected to serve as a communication forum between immigration authorities and the media in delivering information to the public,” Ramdhani said.
According to the event information, 31 media partners participated in the gathering.
The participating outlets represented various media platforms, including print publications, electronic media and online news organizations.
The involvement of media partners is part of the immigration authorities’ efforts to expand public access to information regarding immigration activities, services and policies in Bali.
The gathering also involved several immigration work units, including the Bali Regional Office of the Directorate General of Immigration, the Ngurah Rai Class I Special Immigration Office, the Denpasar Class I Immigration Office, the Buleleng Class II Immigration Office, the Klungkung Class III Non-TPI Immigration Office and the Tabanan Class III Non-TPI Immigration Office.
Public relations personnel from the Bali Regional Office of the Directorate General of Immigration also participated in the event.
Immigration Supervision Becomes a Public Information Focus
Closer cooperation with the media is particularly relevant amid the high level of foreign national activity in Bali.
Information concerning the presence and activities of foreign nationals, immigration services, residence permits, supervision and immigration enforcement is directly relevant to the public.
Through more intensive communication with journalists, immigration authorities can provide information on policies and institutional performance to the public through media outlets.
At the same time, journalists have an opportunity to communicate directly with officials and relevant divisions to obtain information about immigration-related issues in Bali.
Supervision and Enforcement Units Take Part
The gathering also brought together officials responsible for immigration supervision and enforcement.
The participation of the Intelligence and Internal Compliance Division and the Immigration Supervision and Enforcement Division formed part of the effort to strengthen communication concerning immigration oversight and enforcement.
The Division of Travel Documents, Residence Permits and Immigration Status was also involved, covering aspects of immigration services and administration.
With representatives from multiple divisions taking part, the gathering served not only as a public relations initiative but also as a communication forum between the media and officials responsible for immigration services, supervision and enforcement.
Rudenim Denpasar organized the event as part of its efforts to strengthen public communication and reporting on immigration performance in Bali.
The media gathering began at noon local time and was held at the Ibis Styles Bali Denpasar Hotel on Jalan Teuku Umar No. 183, Dauh Puri Kauh, West Denpasar.
