Bali Immigration Opens Verification Channel, Urges Media to Ensure Accurate Reporting

DENPASAR, BALINEWS — Immigration authorities in Bali are opening wider communication and verification channels with the media to ensure that information on immigration policies, services, supervision and enforcement is delivered to the public accurately and fairly.

The statement was made by Head of the Bali Regional Office of the Directorate General of Immigration Ramdhani, A.Md.Im., S.H., M.Si., during a media gathering titled “Media Synergy in Strengthening the Publication of Immigration Performance in Bali.” The event was organized by the Denpasar Immigration Detention Center (Rudenim Denpasar) at the Ibis Styles Bali Denpasar Hotel on Thursday (Oct. 1, 2026).

Ramdhani said the media plays an important role in connecting immigration authorities with the public. According to him, the work and performance of immigration officials would not be widely known without the media's role in communicating information to the community.

“Media are not merely working partners, but a primary bridge connecting immigration authorities with the public,” Ramdhani said.

He encouraged journalists to maintain communication with immigration officials, particularly when information requires clarification or verification.

Ramdhani also stressed the importance of balanced and accurate reporting from all parties.

“We are opening the widest possible communication channels for media colleagues to conduct confirmation and verification of any information that develops,” he said.

He said verification was necessary to ensure that information delivered to the public reflected actual conditions and facts, particularly information related to immigration duties and functions.

Immigration Authorities Open to Criticism

In addition to providing channels for verification, Ramdhani said Bali's immigration authorities were open to feedback, criticism and suggestions from the media.

He said such input could serve as part of an evaluation process to improve both communication and immigration services.

“We are also open to receiving feedback, input, criticism and suggestions as part of our commitment to continuously improving the quality of communication and immigration services,” he said.

Ramdhani expressed hope that cooperation between immigration authorities and the media would extend beyond formal events and continue through regular communication and collaboration.

He said closer cooperation could support the delivery of useful information to the public.

Multiple Immigration Units Take Part

The media gathering involved not only senior officials but also representatives from several immigration units across Bali.

Participants included the Bali Regional Office of the Directorate General of Immigration, the Ngurah Rai Class I Special Immigration Office, the Denpasar Class I Immigration Office, the Buleleng Class II Immigration Office, the Klungkung Class III Non-TPI Immigration Office and the Tabanan Class III Non-TPI Immigration Office.

Public relations personnel from the Bali Regional Office of the Directorate General of Immigration also participated.

Officials responsible for key immigration functions were involved in the event, including the Intelligence and Internal Compliance Division, the Immigration Supervision and Enforcement Division, the Travel Documents, Residence Permits and Immigration Status Division, as well as administrative and public relations units.

Also attending were Head of Rudenim Denpasar Teguh Mentalyadi; Head of the Bali Regional Office of the Directorate General of Immigration Ramdhani; Head of the Bali Provincial Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Agency (DPMPTSP) Dr. I Ketut Sukra Negara, S.Sos., M.Si.; Head of the Public Relations Division of the Bali Provincial Government's Public Relations and Protocol Bureau K. Suadnyana Puriyanto, S.STP., M.Si.; and Head of the Ngurah Rai Class I Special Immigration Office Muhamad Novyandri, A.Md.Im., S.H., M.H.

The gathering was conducted in an informal setting to provide an opportunity for networking, discussion and communication between immigration officials and members of the press.

Ramdhani said he hoped the cooperation would continue to strengthen so that information concerning immigration matters could be delivered to the public accurately, fairly and based on proper verification.

The meeting concluded with a traditional Indonesian rhyme delivered by Ramdhani, emphasizing the spirit of partnership between immigration authorities and the media in providing reliable information to the public.
