Bali Mobile Brigade Deploys 100 Personnel to South Kalimantan to Support Forest and Land Fire Response

DENPASAR, BALINEWS — The Bali Regional Police’s Mobile Brigade Corps (Brimob) has deployed 100 personnel to South Kalimantan to support efforts to tackle forest and land fires, locally known as karhutla, on Saturday, October 24, 2026. The deployment follows an earlier assignment involving 110 Brimob personnel sent to West Kalimantan.

The deployment is part of the Indonesian National Police’s operational support for disaster response, aimed at protecting communities and the environment in areas affected by forest and land fires.

The 100 personnel assigned to South Kalimantan will serve under an operational assistance arrangement known as Bantuan Kendali Operasi (BKO), supporting firefighting and disaster management efforts in coordination with relevant agencies.

During their assignment, the personnel are expected to carry out their duties professionally, maintain discipline, and exercise responsibility while prioritizing safety and strengthening coordination with other teams involved in the emergency response.

Before sending personnel to South Kalimantan, Bali Brimob deployed 110 officers to West Kalimantan to assist with forest and land fire management. The contingent was led by Police Commissioner I Nyoman Suparta Wiradarma, S.H.

During the assignment, Brimob personnel supported firefighting operations, including in Kubu Raya Regency, West Kalimantan. Their presence contributed to disaster response efforts and strengthened cooperation among police units in addressing emergency situations.

The personnel returned to Bali on October 6, 2026, after completing their assignment.

The latest deployment of 100 personnel to South Kalimantan on October 24 marks the continuation of Bali Brimob’s support for forest and land fire management across regional boundaries.

Through its deployments to West and South Kalimantan, Bali Brimob has demonstrated its readiness to provide personnel support for disaster response operations beyond its home jurisdiction.

The assistance is expected to strengthen firefighting operations through cooperation with police units and relevant agencies, while supporting efforts to protect communities in affected areas.

The deployments also reflect the Indonesian National Police’s humanitarian role in responding to disasters that require coordination and cooperation across regional boundaries.

By mobilizing its personnel, Bali Brimob continues to contribute to forest and land fire response efforts, public safety, and environmental protection in affected regions.
