Belu Immigration Office Ranks Third Nationally for Immigration Supervision and Enforcement

ATAMBUA, BALINEWS – The Belu Class II Immigration Office (TPI) has secured third place nationally among Class II immigration offices for its performance in immigration supervision and enforcement.

The award was presented by Director General of Immigration Hendarsam Marantoko during the 2026 Immigration Supervision and Enforcement Coordination Meeting at The Trans Luxury Hotel in Bandung on Tuesday, October 13, 2026.

The award was received by Jusup Pehulisa Ginting, Head of the Belu Immigration Office, accompanied by Harianto, Head of the Intelligence and Immigration Enforcement Section.

The achievement recognizes the office’s efforts to strengthen immigration supervision and enforcement, particularly along the land border between Indonesia and Timor-Leste.

As an immigration office operating in a strategic border region, the Belu office plays an important role in monitoring the activities and presence of foreign nationals, addressing immigration violations, and helping safeguard national sovereignty and security.

Following the award presentation, Jusup expressed his appreciation to all staff members for their hard work, teamwork, and integrity in carrying out their duties.

“This achievement is not merely an award but also an opportunity and motivation for us on the front line to continue improving the quality of immigration supervision and enforcement through firm and measurable actions to maintain national security and stability,” he said.

The Directorate General of Immigration regularly evaluates the performance of its operational units to ensure that immigration supervision and law enforcement are carried out effectively and in accordance with established procedures.

Looking ahead, the Belu Immigration Office plans to strengthen coordination with other government agencies through the Foreigners Supervision Team (Tim Pengawasan Orang Asing, or TIMPORA). The collaboration aims to anticipate potential security vulnerabilities in the border region and improve oversight of foreign nationals’ activities.

The third-place national ranking underscores the office’s commitment to maintaining professional standards, accountability, and effective immigration enforcement along the Indonesia–Timor-Leste border.
