JAKARTA, BALINEWS — H. Teuku Yudhistira, National Coordinator of Relawan Listrik untuk Negeri (Re-LUN), has urged newly appointed PT PLN (Persero) President Director Suroso Isnandar to review the state-owned electricity company's management, including the deputy president director and other key officials.
The call comes following the leadership change at PLN after Darmawan Prasodjo's five-year tenure as president director.
Yudhistira said a comprehensive management review was necessary to ensure that the company operates professionally and transparently, with appointments based on merit rather than personal connections or alleged nepotism.
“The new president director must demonstrate his leadership and ensure that PLN is managed by professionals based on their competence and capabilities, not nepotism,” Yudhistira said in Jakarta on Friday, October 16, 2026.
According to Yudhistira, several officials appointed during Darmawan Prasodjo's tenure continue to hold strategic positions within PLN. He called for a review of the board of directors, PLN Icon Plus management, the information technology division, and officials at the executive vice president (EVP) and vice president (VP) levels.
One official he singled out was PLN Deputy President Director Yusuf Didi Setiarto. Yudhistira said the change in leadership could trigger internal tensions, particularly among officials who had previously been considered potential candidates for the top position.
These assessments, however, reflect Yudhistira's views. The allegations have not been independently verified, and no responses from the officials concerned were included in the information provided.
In addition to calling for a management review, Yudhistira urged authorities to investigate alleged irregularities in PLN office renovation projects across Indonesia.
He alleged that the projects were centrally contracted by PLN's General Affairs Division through direct appointments to PT Sinergi Properti Pratama (SPP), a subsidiary of the PLN Pension Fund. According to Yudhistira, the work was subsequently subcontracted to other companies that he alleged were affiliated with Yusuf Didi Setiarto.
Yudhistira claimed that the total value of the renovation projects amounted to hundreds of billions of rupiah. He also questioned the role of PLN General Affairs Executive Vice President Khairullah, whom he said had signed the project contracts.
Based on information he said he had obtained, Yudhistira called on the relevant authorities to examine the procurement process, contractor appointments, subcontracting arrangements, and any potential conflicts of interest involving the projects.
He stressed that the procurement and implementation processes should be examined transparently to establish whether any violations had occurred and to ensure that those responsible could be held accountable under the law.
However, the allegations concerning corporate affiliations, nepotism, and potential irregularities in the renovation projects have not been substantiated by independently verified evidence or official legal findings in the information provided. They therefore require further examination through audits and investigations by the competent authorities.
Yudhistira also said PLN's internal reforms should include stronger professional standards and disciplinary enforcement to ensure that the state-owned company is managed accountably and protected against potential abuse of authority.
As of the time of publication, no responses had been provided by PLN, Yusuf Didi Setiarto, Khairullah, or PT Sinergi Properti Pratama regarding the allegations and demands raised by Re-LUN.
Further confirmation from the parties concerned is needed to ensure balanced coverage and provide them with an opportunity to respond.
