BALINEWS.ID – Bali is projected to face a major influx of visitors in March 2026 as two significant religious holidays, the Balinese New Year (Nyepi) on March 19 and Eid al-Fitr on March 21–22, fall within the same week, creating an extended holiday period of up to seven days for many Indonesian travelers.
Tourism stakeholders are urging travelers to plan ahead, particularly first-time visitors, as Nyepi enforces a full 24-hour shutdown across the island. During the Day of Silence, all flights at Ngurah Rai International Airport are suspended, roads are closed, and outdoor activities are prohibited, requiring visitors to remain within their accommodations.
Bali’s appeal as a leading global destination remains strong. The island was recently ranked number one in TripAdvisor’s Travelers’ Choice Awards: Best of the Best Destinations 2026, surpassing major cities such as London, Dubai, Paris, and New York. This accolade is supported by strong tourism performance, with more than 7.1 million international arrivals recorded in 2025, exceeding pre-pandemic levels and marking a new all-time high.
Domestic travel is also expected to rise significantly during the March 2026 holiday period, driven by government initiatives such as discounted airline tickets for Eid al-Fitr to stimulate economic activity. Bali’s accessibility continues to improve with new international flight routes from Singapore, Newcastle (Australia), and Mumbai. Travel platforms including Skyscanner have also highlighted the growing trend of multi-generational family travel, increasing demand for larger, private accommodations during peak seasons.
Responding to this trend, Nakula Villa Management is highlighting several luxury villa options designed to accommodate families and large groups seeking space, privacy, and comfort during the extended holiday period.
One of the featured properties is The Bija Villas, a nine-bedroom villa complex located in the heart of Canggu. The villas offer expansive communal spaces, a private swimming pool, a traditional joglo pavilion, and a dedicated entertainment room, making it suitable for large families traveling together while still allowing personal privacy.
Also in Canggu, Villa Morada features five bedrooms set within lush gardens and open-plan living areas. The villa combines contemporary design with a relaxed atmosphere, providing a quiet retreat while remaining close to cafés, boutiques, and popular lifestyle spots in the area.
For travelers seeking ocean views, Nagasutra Villa in Ungasan offers seven bedrooms perched on a cliff overlooking the Indian Ocean. The property features a private pool, jacuzzi, and gazebo, with uninterrupted sea views that create a tranquil setting for family gatherings and special occasions.
Meanwhile, Villa Tirtadari in Kerobokan spans a large estate and blends traditional joglo architecture with modern comforts. The villa is equipped with seven bedrooms, expansive lawns, and a 25-metre swimming pool, making it ideal for families with children and group activities in a private environment.
“With Bali consistently ranking among the world’s top travel destinations and demand continuing to rise, early planning has never been more important,” said Christian Sunjoto, CEO of Nakula Villa Management. “Our villas are designed to offer families and groups a comfortable, private space to reconnect and create meaningful memories during peak holiday periods.”
Travelers planning to visit Bali during Chinese New Year in February 2026 or the combined Nyepi and Eid al-Fitr holiday period in March are encouraged to secure accommodation early to avoid limited availability.
