BALINEWS.ID – In a landmark moment for the Indonesian culinary and luxury lifestyle landscape, Prestige Indonesia has officially launched the inaugural PRESTIGE Gourmet Awards 2025 (PGA 2025), a tribute to the nation’s most distinguished dining destinations and the trailblazers who redefine gastronomic brilliance.
Held in the architecturally striking Rifyo Design Quarter in South Jakarta, the event marked a new chapter in Prestige’s ongoing commitment to illuminating the finest aspects of luxury living. For over two decades, Prestige Indonesia has been the quintessential authority on society, style, and sophistication, and the PGA 2025 serves as an inspired extension of that legacy.
The awards unveiled Indonesia’s 30 Best Restaurants of the Year, a curated list that honours exceptionalism, creativity, and culinary refinement. Distinct from mainstream accolades driven by popular votes or commercial influence, PGA 2025 derives its merit from the Prestige Inner Circle, a panel of over 20 eminent figures spanning the spheres of haute cuisine, fashion, hospitality, wellness, design, and the arts. These are tastemakers who both reflect and shape the aspirations of Asia’s elite.
“Our awards are not just about what’s trending, they reflect enduring excellence and singular vision,” said Ronald Liem, Publisher and Editor-in-Chief of Prestige Indonesia.
“PGA 2025 offers an authentic recognition shaped by the tastes of those who live and breathe refined culture. It’s a celebration of restaurants that resonate with those who truly understand the nuances of fine living,” he added.
The list of honourees spans Gold, Silver, and Bronze tiers, capturing the rich tapestry of Indonesia’s ever-evolving fine dining ecosystem. While inherently subjective, the selections reveal a remarkable alignment with global standards, demonstrating the judges’ intimate grasp of culinary artistry and innovation.
The awards night itself was a confluence of elegance and sensory delight. Rifyo curated a refined ambiance with its premium furnishings, while Codigo 1530 from Mexico served artisanal tequila cocktails and exclusive tasting flights. San Pellegrino, the globally revered sparkling water, and San Marzano wines, curated by DSP Lifestyle, enhanced the experience with their renowned quality. MARAK, a premium Balinese spirits brand, added a local cultural flourish with its artisanal Indonesian offerings.
This celebration of excellence is immortalised in Prestige Indonesia’s May 2025 “Taste Issue”, where all 30 winners are showcased in a dedicated editorial spread, cementing their place among the nation’s gastronomic greats.
As Mr. Liem noted, “This is only the genesis of what will become the benchmark for culinary prestige in Indonesia and beyond. The journey continues in 2026 with a renewed vision, an evolved jury, and an even more ambitious mission.”
The PRESTIGE Gourmet Awards now stand as the definitive guide for the country’s most discerning palates, where taste is more than flavour; it is culture, identity, and art. (*)
