BADUNG, BALINEWS.ID – A vibrant atmosphere of energy and cultural fusion filled 69 Bar & Resto on Tuesday (Feb 17), as the venue hosted a lively Lunar New Year celebration inspired by the spirit of the 2026 Fire Horse zodiac.
Blending modern creativity with traditional symbolism, the event featured a special culinary lineup and high-energy entertainment, drawing guests into a festive evening marked by prosperity themes and community spirit.
Among the highlights was a BBQ buffet with a live carving station serving roasted Peking duck, a dish widely regarded in Chinese culture as a symbol of wealth and abundance. Guests also enjoyed dim sum selections such as vegetarian gyoza and mushroom shumai, alongside classic desserts including egg tarts, sesame balls (onde-onde), and nian gao (sticky rice cake), which represents family unity and togetherness.

“We want this year’s celebration to feel different, just like the Fire Horse itself,” said Putu Robby Rudita, Food & Beverage Manager.
“The Fire Horse symbolizes energy, movement, and progress. Through this event, we aim to reflect that spirit, staying dynamic and always moving toward something better,” he added.
He explained that the restaurant adopted a modern concept while maintaining traditional elements, allowing the team’s creativity to shine without losing cultural authenticity.
Entertainment played a major role in reinforcing the energetic theme, with performances including a live band, DJ sets, fire dance, bartending shows, and a lion dance performance. The lion dance troupe was performed by students from Universitas Udayana who belong to a dedicated cultural community and perform annually during Lunar New Year celebrations.
“We strongly support youth creativity,” Rudita added. “Their performance adds meaning to the celebration and keeps traditions alive among the younger generation.”

Looking ahead, he expressed hope that the Fire Horse year would inspire resilience and optimism for Bali despite ongoing challenges.
“No matter the obstacles, we must stay spirited like the Fire Horse, keep moving, keep searching for solutions, and continue progressing toward a better future,” he said.
The celebration took place in Kuta, Badung, one of Bali’s busiest tourism hubs, reinforcing the island’s multicultural festive landscape during the Lunar New Year season. (*)
