DENPASAR, BALINEWS.ID – The Association of Indonesia Tour and Travel Agencies (ASITA) Bali has issued an official clarification regarding the circulation of fraudulent emails offering to sell the participant database of the Bali & Beyond Travel Fair (BBTF) 2025. In its statement, ASITA firmly denied the claims and emphasized that the information is false and part of a scam exploiting the prestigious BBTF event.
ASITA Bali noted that such fraudulent schemes are not unprecedented, as similar incidents have previously occurred in connection with other internationally renowned events such as ITB Berlin and WTM. In these cases, unscrupulous individuals have leveraged the reputation of high-profile events to perpetrate deceptive and harmful actions.
“We would like to emphasize that the BBTF 2025 participant database is being safeguarded with the utmost professionalism and in accordance with strict data security standards and organizational ethics. All data we manage is confidential and is not for sale to any party,” ASITA Bali stated on Wednesday, 2nd of July 2025.

ASITA Bali is currently investigating the individuals or entities misusing the BBTF name. The organization also urged all ASITA Bali members to refrain from responding to or forwarding unverified information.
“We urge all ASITA Bali members not to respond to or circulate any unverified information,” the statement continued.
ASITA Bali calls on all stakeholders to remain vigilant and only rely on official communications from the BBTF organizing committee or authorized organizations to prevent further losses due to increasingly widespread digital fraud. (*)
