DENPASAR, BALINEWS – The Bali Community for Women and Child Protection (Komunitas Peduli Perempuan dan Anak Bali, or KPPA Bali) is exploring a partnership with RAGAM – Bagi-Bagi Nasi (Ragam Community Kitchen) to expand social welfare and humanitarian initiatives, particularly for women, children, and underprivileged families.
The potential partnership was discussed during a goodwill visit by KPPA Bali to RAGAM. The meeting focused on opportunities to collaborate on various social programs, including the distribution of free packed meals and other humanitarian assistance initiatives.
Endang Hastuty Bunga, S.H., Chairperson of KPPA Bali, expressed hope that the collaboration would mark the beginning of broader efforts to reach people in need, particularly women and children who require greater attention, protection, and support.
“We hope this collaboration will go beyond distributing free meals and develop into a wider range of social and humanitarian activities. We want to be present in the community, especially to support women and children who need attention, protection, and assistance,” Endang said.
She explained that KPPA Bali plans to engage directly with local communities to distribute free packed meals with support from RAGAM. Beyond food assistance, the proposed partnership is also expected to create opportunities for additional social welfare programs.
RAGAM – Bagi-Bagi Nasi, also known as Ragam Community Kitchen, is managed by married couple Nicolaas Kimman and Duhitta Hayyuardhini. They regularly distribute free packed meals to members of the public, charitable foundations, and orphanages across Bali.
In addition to providing meals, RAGAM also distributes essential food supplies to people in need, including waste pickers and economically disadvantaged communities. These initiatives help address basic needs and provide practical assistance to vulnerable groups.
According to Endang, humanitarian efforts do not have to begin with large-scale initiatives. She emphasized that compassion, a willingness to help, and collective action can make a meaningful difference in people's lives.
“We do not have to wait until we are wealthy or have everything we need before helping others. Even the smallest act of kindness can give our lives meaning and make a positive impact if it helps ease someone else's burden,” she said.
Through this prospective partnership, KPPA Bali hopes to encourage more individuals and organizations to participate in sustainable social initiatives. The collaboration with RAGAM is expected to broaden the reach of humanitarian assistance while strengthening support for women, children, and other vulnerable communities in Bali.
KPPA Bali reaffirmed its commitment to building partnerships and developing social programs that deliver meaningful assistance to those in need.
