The name SOLUNA combines Sol, meaning sun, and Luna, meaning moon, representing the movement between day and night, light and shadow, calm and energy. The concept reflects Bali’s natural rhythm, where an evening often begins with a sunset before continuing into the night.
Designed as a contemporary interpretation of a speakeasy, SOLUNA focuses less on secrecy and more on creating a sense of escape. Guests enter a space with its own rhythm, shaped by warm lighting, music, carefully crafted drinks and attentive yet relaxed hospitality.
The venue’s terrace provides a laid-back setting to enjoy Seminyak’s celebrated sunsets. As daylight fades, the atmosphere gradually shifts, guiding guests from sunset drinks into a more intimate nighttime experience.
SOLUNA is designed to follow the natural progression of an evening. Guests may begin with a drink on the terrace, continue with cocktails as the music builds, or simply discover the venue as an unexpected destination later in the night.
Inside, atmosphere plays an important role in the overall experience. Restrained lighting keeps the focus on conversation and movement, while music evolves with the evening without overwhelming the room.

For Maxime Bouttier, the gradual transformation of the venue throughout the evening is one of SOLUNA’s defining qualities.
“I like places that have a natural progression to them — you can arrive while there is still daylight, watch the sunset, and then suddenly the whole mood of the night has changed. SOLUNA has that feeling where the music, the setting and the people all connect without it ever feeling forced.”
Laura Hasjim said SOLUNA reflects the changing way people approach nightlife, with greater emphasis on individuality, intimacy and genuine social connection.
“The way people experience nightlife is evolving. It is becoming less about simply going out and more about finding places with personality and a genuine sense of identity. With SOLUNA, we wanted to create a space that feels contemporary, intimate and connected to the way people want to socialise today,” she said.
That philosophy also extends to the venue’s service style. Hospitality is attentive without becoming intrusive, allowing guests to maintain a sense of personal space while the energy of the venue develops throughout the evening.
For Randy Hasjim, SOLUNA is ultimately about creating an environment that makes people feel comfortable and connected.
“For me, SOLUNA is really about how a place makes you feel, not just how it looks or what you drink. We wanted to create an environment that feels personal and welcoming, where good hospitality, conversation and atmosphere come together naturally.”

Igor Raicevic said the goal was to ensure every element contributes to a cohesive experience while allowing guests to enjoy the evening naturally.
“For me, the strongest venues are the ones where every detail feels considered, but nothing feels forced. At SOLUNA, the goal was to create an experience that feels polished and intentional, while still allowing guests to relax, enjoy the atmosphere and let the night unfold naturally.”
