BALINEWSID — A new lifestyle hospitality concept has arrived on Bali’s western coastline as SONO Belle Bali Legian officially opened its doors on September 1, 2026, marking the first introduction of the SONO Belle brand to the Indonesian market.
Situated directly along Legian Beach, the 117-room resort formerly operated as Away Bali Legian Camakila. The property has been part of Legian’s beachfront hospitality landscape since 2019 and became part of the SONO Hotels & Resorts Asia portfolio in October 2025.
The transformation into SONO Belle Bali Legian represents the company’s strategy to strengthen its presence in Southeast Asia through dedicated hotel brands while offering guests a more contemporary and locally connected experience.
“The introduction of SONO Belle reflects our commitment to building a stronger, more unified brand portfolio. It is a key step in the presence of SONO Hotels & Resorts Asia as we continue to elevate the guest experience across our destinations,” said Jihong An, Senior Vice President of SONO Hotels & Resorts Asia.
For Indonesia, the launch also represents a significant milestone for SONO Belle, a nature-led lifestyle brand that already operates nine properties across South Korea and Vietnam.
According to Evan Burns, Area Vice President Indonesia of SONO Hotels & Resorts Asia, Legian was considered an ideal destination to introduce the brand to Indonesia because of its strong connection with Bali’s beach culture.
“SONO Belle Bali Legian represents the next chapter for our Indonesia portfolio, and there is no better place to launch it than Legian. This property has been part of the beachfront community for years, and SONO Belle transforms it into a refined lifestyle destination inspired by Bali’s natural beauty,” Burns said.
The resort’s redesign combines contemporary elements with natural textures and a stronger sense of connection to its surroundings. Its location between Legian Beach and the area’s shopping and entertainment district places guests within easy reach of one of Bali’s popular tourism corridors.
New Dining Concept and Refreshed Wellness Experience
One of the key additions at SONO Belle Bali Legian is Chef’s Table, a new all-day Western dining venue located beside the swimming pool.
The restaurant offers a relaxed dining environment with views of the resort’s surroundings. Its menu focuses on quality ingredients, approachable flavours and contemporary presentation, catering to guests throughout the day from casual lunches to relaxed evening meals.
The resort has also upgraded its wellness facilities with a refreshed spa concept focused on relaxation and recovery. Guests can choose from a range of treatments, including massages, manicures and pedicures, creating a more comprehensive wellness experience for individuals, couples and families.
Local partnerships are another important part of the resort’s new identity.
Indonesian beauty and wellness brand Sensatia Botanicals has developed a signature SONO Belle scent that is incorporated into selected guest areas and experiences. The collaboration is designed to create a distinctive atmosphere inspired by locally sourced and nature-based ingredients.
Meanwhile, guests can enjoy complimentary poolside coffee from Tanamera Coffee, featuring Indonesian specialty beans and adding a casual lifestyle element to the resort’s pool area.
The Playroom Brings a New Experience for Families
Families are also part of the resort’s refreshed offering through The Playroom, a redesigned kids’ club featuring a playful and nature-inspired environment.
The space provides children with an area to play, create and explore in a safe and comfortable setting. Its contemporary design complements the resort’s broader lifestyle concept while strengthening its appeal to families travelling to Bali.
The resort said the changes are designed to combine comfort, local connections and curated experiences while maintaining the relaxed atmosphere associated with Bali’s beachfront lifestyle.
More Facilities to Arrive
The opening of SONO Belle Bali Legian is also the beginning of a wider transformation, with several additional facilities planned to be introduced over the coming months.
Among the upcoming additions are an authentic Korean dining concept developed with Korean chefs, a contemporary Indonesian restaurant, a rooftop spa, a swim-up pool bar and a dedicated wellness zone.
The resort will also introduce a Grab & Go Lobby Bar offering coffee, juices and quick bites, as well as the SONO App, which will provide guests with 24-hour access to hotel information, dining options, activities and other guest services through their mobile devices.
With the new facilities and experiences being introduced in phases, SONO Belle Bali Legian aims to establish itself as a contemporary beachfront lifestyle destination while maintaining a strong connection with Bali’s natural and cultural character.
