DENPASAR, BALINEWS.ID – The Bali Sales and Marketing Community (BASCOMM) held a major industry workshop on April 15, 2026, at the Bali Sunset Road Convention Center, focusing on strengthening Bali’s position in two of its fastest-growing tourism markets: Australia and India.
The event marked BASCOMM’s second major initiative this year, aimed at equipping tourism stakeholders with practical strategies and data-driven insights to adapt to the rapidly evolving global travel landscape.
Both Australia and India continue to record strong year-on-year growth in visitor arrivals and tourism spending, making them key pillars of Bali’s recovery and expansion.
More than 500 participants attended the workshop, representing a wide spectrum of the hospitality industry. Attendees included hotel and resort owners, general managers, villa operators, as well as professionals in sales, marketing, revenue management, and e-commerce.
The forum served as a platform for industry leaders to exchange ideas and align strategies for future growth.
The workshop featured a lineup of prominent speakers delivering in-depth analysis on consumer behavior and booking trends. Troy Rosee, Senior Manager of Partnerships and Contracting Asia at Luxury Escapes Australia, shared insights into capturing the high-value Australian market, which continues to view Bali as a top island destination.
Meanwhile, Abhishek Kumar Mishra, Regional Director of Makemytrip.com, outlined strategies to tap into India’s rapidly expanding outbound tourism sector, highlighting the growing demand for curated Bali travel experiences.
Adding a technical perspective, Waluyo Suwito (Yoyok), Senior Sales and Business Development representative from Lighthouse, presented on the use of digital marketing platforms and data intelligence to maximize revenue in an increasingly competitive online environment.
Gufron, CHA, Managing Director of Alpha Hotel Management and BASCOMM Advisor, emphasized the importance of the workshop in supporting industry resilience.
“This workshop reflects BASCOMM’s commitment to helping tourism professionals stay ahead of industry changes by providing relevant knowledge and insights,” he said.
“By understanding the specific needs of key markets like Australia and India, local players can turn challenges into opportunities,” he added.
The event was made possible through collaboration with various sponsors and strategic partners, including Lighthouse, Bali Sunset Road Convention Center, Luxury Escapes Australia, Makemytrip.com India, and several Bali-based media outlets.
