About Hatten Wines (PT Hatten Bali Tbk)
Founded in 1994 through its subsidiary PT Arpan Bali Utama, Hatten Wines embarked on its journey with the production of a single rosé wine, crafted from Bali’s native Alphonse Lavallée grape. Over the decades, it has evolved into a fully integrated company encompassing grape cultivation, winemaking, and distribution.
Today, Hatten Wines oversees approximately 60 hectares of vineyards in Singaraja, with an ongoing expansion strategy to introduce international grape varieties. To bolster research and innovation, the company has designated 12 hectares specifically for viticultural experimentation.
Collaborating closely with local grape farmers, Hatten Wines has cultivated an impressive portfolio of over 10 wine variants. In 2007, the company extended its reach with the introduction of TWO Islands Wines, which showcases select vintages sourced from premium vineyards in South Australia. This strategic expansion was propelled by the brand’s ambition to offer world-class wines that rival imported labels. In 2016, Dragonfly Wines was launched, catering to local and Asian markets with a focus on sweet wine variants.
Currently, Hatten Wines boasts a diverse selection, including 8 bottled wine variants, 3 cask wine options, and two limited editions (Chenin Blanc and Syrah). The TWO Islands brand encompasses 12 variants, with an additional Reserve line comprising 4 distinguished options. Meanwhile, Dragonfly Wines features 2 unique expressions tailored to regional palates.
Since 2005, Hatten Wines has garnered numerous international accolades. Notably, in 2011, Ida Bagus Rai Budarsa was honored with the Southeast Asia Wine Pioneer Award. In 2017, the winery clinched the coveted Winery of the Year title, outshining over 300 wines from more than 100 vineyards across nine Asian countries. Furthermore, it received the Best Trophy Winner Award from the Asian Wine Review, reinforcing its stature as a premier wine producer in the region.
Hatten Wines’ award-winning portfolio is distinguished by its meticulous craftsmanship, complexity, and alignment with classic wine profiles. The Winery of the Year distinction is granted exclusively to producers who consistently demonstrate excellence in their winemaking techniques and sensory refinement. The Asian Wine Review, published by The Flying Winemaker in Hong Kong, ensures impartiality through a rigorous blind tasting evaluation process.
In 2000, PT Hatten Bali launched The Cellardoor, an exclusive establishment offering immersive wine experiences, including tastings and wine-food pairing sessions. Following a strategic relocation in 2014, The Cellardoor expanded to include the Hatten Education Center and Private Dining Room. The Hatten Education Center functions as an internationally accredited body for wine and spirits education, while the Private Dining Room serves as a multi-functional venue for curated events.
Strategically positioned in Sanur, Bali, The Cellardoor provides seamless access to Bali’s prime tourist destinations, making it an attractive destination for business travelers, tourists, and locals seeking an unparalleled wine-tasting experience.
